Designed for Masonicare in Wallingford, CT, the Ashlar Village project adds 78 independent living apartments, 40 villas, 45 assisted living units, 30 memory support units and associated commons to their existing campus. The master plan as envisioned organizes the project around a continuation of the “Central Park” theme inherent in the existing campus. The majority of apartments benefit from multiple exposures and views of the intentionally formed park features. The villas have been situated to take advantage of the existing, mature woodlands.
The focal point of the project is the Hartog Activities Center which expands and replaces the original activities building at the same location. Over the course of construction the existing amenities were kept open to residents even while the entire structure was tripled in size and every portion was remodeled.
The Pond Ridge addition provides dedicated memory support services in a household model with a secure garden and it’s own entrance while remaining connected to the larger campus.
