We at EGA proudly announce a new association with Leo A Daly Inc. to pursue work outside of the Northeast. In the early days of our practice, EGA solicited new work from all over the country. As the firm grew and we relocated to New England, the demand for our services in the Northeast became so great that we focused primarily on this region. Now, an opportunity to work with one of the largest and most prestigious architectural firms in the country will allow us to redevelop a national focus and hopefully expand internationally. Through Leo A Daly's network of offices, we will be able to extend our reach and help a broader range of clients plan for the future in the senior housing market.

Five months ago, Leo A. Daly, one of the 10 largest architectural firms in the U.S., contacted EGA to see about working together on select projects. After many discussions we jointly developed a plan to take full advantage of each firm's knowledge and experience. Through this relationship, EGA will use its strength in housing for the elderly to provide master planning, conceptual design and design development services for senior housing projects. Leo A Daly, with their size, resources and network of local offices will provide the remainder of standard A&E services. The goal of this relationship will be to provide clients with superior services and the best available information to navigate these difficult times. We are honored that Daly has selected EGA over other U.S. firms to associate with. Gerry and I see this as a way to make EGA even stronger without compromising service to our current clients.

LEO A DALY ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ASSOCIATION WITH EGA ARCHITECTS
Firms Collaborate to Expand Senior Living Facility Design Practice

(OMAHA, Neb. – July 20, 2009) International architecture, planning, engineering, interior design and program management firm LEO A DALY announces an association with EGA Architects to further develop a national senior living facility design practice. The two firms agreed to an exclusive two-year agreement.

“We believe that the synergy between our two firms will provide added value to clients in the senior living market,” says LEO A DALY Senior Vice President John Whisler, PE, LEED® AP. “Clients will be able to leverage EGA’s past success in this market, combined with LEO A DALY’s strengths in Healthcare and Hospitality projects.”

The senior living market is expected to grow substantially as the Baby Boomer generation (those born between 1946 and 1964) reach retirement age. According to the Federal Agency Forum on Aging Related Statistics, by 2030 approximately 20 percent of the people in the U.S. will be over the age of 65, a number twice as large as in 2000. The need for senior living facilities is anticipated to rise accordingly. Such facilities include independent living, assisted living, adult day care, nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, Alzheimer’s care and active adult communities.
